no one ever wants to move away from their best friend but somehow it happens. It sucks when ‘see you later’ turns into ‘see you next year’ even if it is what’s best for both of you. this has to mean something is about dealing with that distance and navigating a new normal. our friend Melanie Simpson (vocalist) was able to help us convey the heartache of starting over without your closest companion.
lyrics
This Has To Mean Something
Please don’t go I miss you already
It’s happening
Could this be ending
Can’t erase all these memories of us
Don’t wanna see
This happening now
Cause I’m in disbelief
Please don’t go I miss you already
It’s happening
Could this be ending
Can’t erase all these memories of us
Don’t wanna see
This happening now
Cause I’m in disbelief
We both know we’ll never be ready
It’s happening
It’s no daydream
Won’t let go of these memories of us
Is what I see
Happening
Hard to leave such a huge piece behind
Looking backwards in time
I’ll miss you so
My heart has been torn out
All alone
Trying hard to make it on my own
Tumbling down in this dark mental hole
Does he know that I grieve leaving home
And it’s just that we needed to
See things from a new view
How can I
Can I do this
How can I
Can I get through this
How can I
Can I do this
How can I
Can I get through this
Through everything we found a way
To understand
To appreciate
Looking back now it’s surely fate
We did things our way
Through everything we found a way
To understand
To appreciate
Looking back now it’s surely fate
We did things our way
Please don’t go I miss you already
It’s happening
Could this be ending
Can’t erase all these memories of us
Don’t wanna see
This happening
Hard to leave such a huge piece behind
Looking backwards in time
I’ll miss you so
We both know we’ll never be ready
It’s happening
It’s no daydream
Won’t let go of these memories of us
Is what I see happening
Could we just talk through this
Then I’ll know
It’s really happening
