the day after goodbye is about trying to make peace with loss and accepting the sad struggle we all experience with grief. it’s about saying goodbye when it’s the last thing you want to do. it’s about starting over because you have to. our incredibly talented friend Ryan Roets (singer/songwriter) was able to frame these emotions in a way we had only imagined. loss is the price we pay to love and will forever create the conflict of moving forward while holding on to the memories of yesterday. we can and we will, together.
lyrics
Standing in the wake of this train wreck
My heart is beating faster in my chest
I confess
This depression terrifies me
When I’m awake it’s like these thoughts
They paralyze me
Why me
I don’t wanna feel like this
I don’t wanna feel like this
Time stops
Weightless and cold
The silence burns like fire
While my fears unfold
And there’s
Panic
Tooth to my cheek
Too hard to speak without you
Lungs drained of air
Life feels unfair without you
Come back to me
Don’t leave me to dream about you
Dream about you
Dream about you
How can I breathe without you
How can I breathe without you
Without you
What is left to say when the sky falls
I’m staring at your ghost in the stars
And so far
There’s not a day that I don’t miss you
The feelings swell and overflow
It’s like I see you
Hear you
I don’t wanna feel like this
Why do I still feel like this
Heart ripped
Out of my brain
I sit her talking to myself
I think I’m going insane
With my
Tooth to my cheek
Too hard to speak without you
Lungs drained of air
Life feels unfair without you
Come back to me
Don’t leave me to dream about you
Dream about you
Dream about you
How can I breathe without you
How can I breathe without you
The only way to fix this
The only way to fix this pain inside
The only way to fix this
Is a deep breath in
As you say goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Never gonna let you fade away
Never gonna let you say goodbye
Too many things I didn’t say
Take a deep breath in
I’m not ready to say goodbye
Never gonna let you fade away
Never gonna let you say goodbye
